After 13 years with Mountain Electronics, Customer Service Representative Lucy Doll has announced her retirement.
Mountain CEO Whitney Brasington remembers hiring Doll: “The clinic she was working for was getting ready to close, so she ran a classified ad in the local paper that read, ‘Now taking applications from employers,’ and she then listed her skill sets. I immediately mailed Lucy a letter saying, ‘You sound exactly like the kind of person we’re looking for.’”
Doll began her customer service career as a long-distance operator, right out of high school in Wisconsin. Over the years, all of the positions she’s held – in Georgia, Virginia, Washington D.C., Florida, and North Carolina – honed her ability help people from varying regions and cultures find what they need.
In fact, having worked for large corporations such as Wisconsin Telephone, Mercer University in Atlanta, and the National Theatre in D.C., Doll wasn’t sure that Mountain Electronics would be able to sustain her career path – however, the laundry electronics repair and refurbishing company based in Burnsville, N.C., turned out to be a perfect fit for her.
“I’ve never before worked for a company that treated me as well in every way,” Doll marveled. “At Mountain Electronics, they truly appreciate the talents their employees bring with them.”
What’s more, with Doll’s affinity for serving the community in which she lives – be it through the local Lions Club, the public library, or some regional nonprofit group – Lucy has enjoyed contributing to an atmosphere that advocates hard work, creativity, and fun.
“I want all of my long-time customers to know that I miss them already,” Doll added, “and that they shouldn’t be surprised if I show up to say hello now that I’ll have time for my favorite hobby – road-tripping!”
“Lucy has always gone above and beyond for our customers, and her dedicated service has been a big factor in the growth and success of Mountain Electronics over the years,” Brasington explained. “Her coworkers and customers wish her all the best in her retirement. She will be missed!”
