Commercial Laundry Systems of the Rockies, headquartered in Johnstown, Colo., recently announced that it will donate 5 percent of the profits gleaned from its equipment sales during the month of May to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Company owner Pete Valconesi, who expects the donated sum to be between $3,000 and $5,000, said he’s glad to give back, especially when those funds can help sick children.

St. Jude, established in 1962 by entertainer Danny Thomas, is a hospital focused on understanding, treating and defeating childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

“We’ve spent more than half a century finding cures and saving children, and our groundbreaking research has helped push the survival rate for childhood cancer from less than 20 percent in 1962 to more than 80 percent today,” states the hospital’s website.

By providing a portion of the company’s profits to St. Jude, Valconesi and his customers are contributing to the cause.

“As an owner of a business, I’m grateful to be in a position where I can give back and help benefit St. Jude,” Valconesi explained. “Sick children tear at my heart strings. I’ve got a soft spot for them, and if I can help them in some small way, I want to do that.”

Valconesi also is encouraging the public to donate to St. Jude’s online at www.stjude.org. He added that he’s committed to donating a portion of his company’s May equipment profits on an annual basis.

Commercial Laundry Systems of the Rockies is a full-service distributor of Continental vended and on-premise laundry equipment throughout Colorado, Montana and Wyoming.
