Masters Laundry Equipment recently announced that it will hold a profitability seminar on October 24 at Laundrylux‘s headquarters in Inwood, N.Y. This one-day event will be presented by Masters Laundry owner Michael Mastorides, who will teach attendees how to create and manage more efficient and profitable laundry businesses. In addition, the seminar will feature equipment specials, low financing and savings on parts.

When it comes to the laundry industry, Mastorides has experienced it from every aspect – first as a technician, then as a store owner, and for more than 20 years as a distributor.

“I was a technician for Wascomat equipment for seven years, before I took the plunge and bought my first laundromat in 1987,” Mastorides said. “I went on to buy two more stores. Then, I worked for a distributor for 20 years before opening my own distribution company.”

Having worked from the “ground up”in the laundry business means Mastorides can empathize with the issues store owners and potential investors most likely will face – including site selection, demographics, construction, pro formas, store design and layout, and selecting the proper mix of equipment.

“My goal is to make every laundromat I’m involved with better than the local competition,” Mastorides explained. “At Masters Laundry Equipment, we want our customers to succeed. We look at their business like it was our business. We’d never give advice that we wouldn’t give to ourselves.”

Mastorides and his staff have built more than 100 successful vended laundries and countless OPL facilities in the New York tri-state area.

“What’s not to love about the laundry business?”he asked. “It’s recession-proof, and I get to help people realize their entrepreneurial dreams. I always knew I’d follow in my father’s footsteps. I wouldn’t think of doing anything else.”
