Before the Major League Baseball playoffs began in early October, PWS, headquartered in South Gate, Calif., held a simple contest – choose the winner of the World Series and, if your pick is correct, get a refund on all parts ordered.
The distributor received 119 entries into its contest, with 28 of them selecting either the Cleveland Indians or the Chicago Cubs as the eventual World Series champion – 20 customers chose the Cubs and eight of them picked the Indians.
“One order on Chicago is more than $700, so I imagine that customer will be rooting hard for the Cubbies to win,” said PWS Co-President Brad Pollack.
Within 24 hours of the conclusion of the World Series, all of the contest winners will receive refunds on orders they placed before the MLB playoffs.
“Whatever team wins, this was a fun promotion that the customers seemed to really appreciate,” added PWS Co-President Brad Steinberg.
