CSC ServiceWorks<\/a> has announced it is expanding its social impact program, CSC CommunityWorks<\/a>. In 2022, the company continues to extend its network of community center\/local CSC branch partnerships in the company\u2019s 40 markets \u2013 donating and servicing new equipment and activating volunteer engagement opportunities.<\/p>\n

CSC CommunityWorks was launched last year \u2013 in partnership with national nonprofit Social Current<\/a> and the support of Cause Consulting<\/a> \u2013 to address a growing concern that too many of our neighbors struggle to succeed with education, employment or socialization due to limited access to clean clothes, especially those in our most underserved communities. Through this program, local CSC Branch teams use their expertise to assess local community organizations\u2019 laundry operations, install the right commercial equipment and provide ongoing maintenance.<\/p>\n

Throughout 2021, the company initiated more than 20 partnerships nationwide, encompassing 30 community centers that serve tens of thousands of community members. Nearly 200 pieces of equipment were donated and installed. Along with ongoing service, maintenance, and replacements, this represents more than $300,000 in grants, donations and in-kind services over their initiating year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe now have access to reliable laundry equipment that can be used to clean face-masks, children\u2019s dirty clothes, towels and other supplies,\u201d said Tashi Swierkosz at PB&J Family Services, one of CSC\u2019s community center partners, located in Albuquerque, N.M. \u201cWe\u2019re also better able to provide clean clothing for clients, helping them remove barriers to confidently access employment, education and community services, as well as improve overall self-image and well-being.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2022, CSC is continuing to build out the nationwide network of community centers it supports. To assist in this growth, CSC has provided a grant of $50,000 to Social Current to help operationalize this expansion. Social Current continues to identify high-need community centers among their network, facilitate partnerships with local CSC branches and collaborate on execution plans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re actively continuing to grow our relationship with our existing partners, while also building out the number of new community centers we serve and types of services we provide,\u201d explained CSC Executive Vice President Rick Martella. \u201cAs we move into the summer, CSC teams will come together at partner sites to transform and uplift their spaces \u2013 including laundry rooms, and general and play spaces.\u201d<\/p>\n
