The annual recognition, acknowledging the top 500 most responsible companies in the United States across 14 industries, is presented by the weekly news magazine and Statista, a statistics portal and industry ranking provider.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe feel incredibly honored and humbled to be named among the three most responsible companies in America,\u201d said Marc Bitzer, chairman and CEO of Whirlpool Corp. \u201cWhile a tremendous amount of work has been done over this past year in the area of environmental sustainability, governance and social responsibility, this public recognition ultimately reflects our lifelong passion for \u2018doing the right thing\u2019 ever since our company was founded 111 years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>America\u2019s Most Responsible Companies were selected based on publicly available key performance indicators derived from social responsibility and sustainability reports, as well as an independent survey. The results are focused on company performance across environmental sustainability, social responsibility and corporate governance, while the independent survey asked U.S. citizens about their perception of company activities related to corporate social responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>This year, Whirlpool received its exemplary ranking due in part to continued progress on its environmental, social and governance commitments.<\/p>\n<p>During 2022, the manufacturer built on its commitment to sustainability, citizenship, inclusion, diversity and equity, and received several honors for those efforts, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Named one of <em>Fortune<\/em>\u2019s World\u2019s Most Admired Companies for the 12th consecutive year.<\/li>\n<li>Named to <em>Forbes<\/em>\u2019 2022 List of \u201cWorld\u2019s Best Employers.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Received a perfect 100 score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation\u2019s annual assessment of LGBTQ+ workplace equality for the 19th year.<\/li>\n<li>Recognized as a leader in creating an inclusive workplace in Seramount\u2019s 2022 Inclusion Index.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whirlpool Corp. has landed in the No. 3 overall spot on Newsweek\u2019s 2023 list of America\u2019s Most Responsible Companies, up from the fourth position in 2021.
