Continental Girbau Inc.<\/a> recently broke ground on its third facility expansion since 2000. The two-phase project comes as a result of growing sales, product offerings and staff, according to President Mike Floyd.<\/p>\n

\u201cBusiness is so strong that we need more space for our team members and product inventory,\u201d Floyd explained. \u201cWe are projecting aggressive expansion throughout the next four years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Phase one of the building expansion, to be completed May 1, 2017, encompasses a 24,000-square-foot warehouse addition.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis extra space will allow Continental to inventory more product, and quickly and efficiently turn around customer product orders,\u201d Floyd said.<\/p>\n

Phase two, to be finished by year-end, will provide added warehouse and office space, although the exact square footage hasn\u2019t been finalized.<\/p>\n

Along with warehouse expansions, additional offices and conference rooms will be created to accommodate Continental\u2019s growing team.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year, we\u2019ll increase our labor force by 12 percent,\u201d Floyd added. Similarly, Continental\u2019s parent company \u2013 Girbau S.A., based in Vic, Spain \u2013 recently added approximately 100 new employees.<\/p>\n

Continental serves the vended, on-premises, industrial, multi-housing and textile-care laundry markets, with equipment that includes washer-extractors, continuous batch washing systems, dryers, feeders, ironers, folding systems and related machinery.<\/p>\n

The facility additions will complement Continental\u2019s current building, which serves as the company\u2019s headquarters for marketing, sales, training, service, warehousing and customer support.<\/p>\n
