With that in mind, Jodi Way, territory sales representative at Martin-Ray Laundry Systems, a Denver-based Speed Queen distributor, organized a first-ever get together for women involved in the vended laundry business.

The event, which included a lunch, keynote speaker and networking opportunities, attracted 16 attendees – from those already in the business to those planning to open laundromats. It was held in March at Piatti Restaurant in Denver’s Cherry Creek neighborhood.

“It’s exciting to have created a venue for women in laundry in the Denver area to get together and discuss challenges we face in the industry,” Way said, adding that feedback from the group was positive and that there is a desire to set up similar events on a regular basis.
