{"id":5961,"date":"2019-03-13T14:58:04","date_gmt":"2019-03-13T19:58:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/planetlaundry.com\/?p=5961"},"modified":"2019-03-22T15:16:16","modified_gmt":"2019-03-22T20:16:16","slug":"free-laundry-day-to-benefit-miami-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/planetlaundry.com\/free-laundry-day-to-benefit-miami-area\/","title":{"rendered":"Free Laundry Day to Benefit Miami Area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, March 25, 2019, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysunnylaundry.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">My Sunny Laundry<\/a> will simultaneously host a <a href=\"https:\/\/laundrycares.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LaundryCares<\/a> Free Laundry Day at its two locations in the Miami area from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. The two locations are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>My Sunny Laundry, 16897 NW 67th Ave., Miami Lakes, Fla. 33015<\/li>\n<li>My Sunny Laundry, 10992 NW 7th Ave., Miami, Fla. 33168<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to free laundry services and detergent, this LaundryCares event will include free food and fun activities for children and adults to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>At this event, a new literacy center will be installed at each of the two laundry businesses. These literacy centers provide books and a comfortable and engaging setting, fostering opportunities for children to read and learn while their families\u2019 clothes and linens are laundered. Similar learning spaces have been launched in laundromats across the nation through the Laundry Literacy Coalition \u2013 a partnership of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.librarieswithoutborders.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Libraries Without Borders<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/toosmall.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Too Small to Fail<\/a> and the LaundryCares Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Millions of families in underserved communities visit laundromats each week to fulfill the basic need of having clean clothes. For many of these families, fulfilling this basic need can often be a challenge. With that in mind, the owners of the My Sunny Laundry family of laundromats, in conjunction with the LaundryCares Foundation, are excited and honored to offer a day of free laundry services for people in the neighborhood. Guests can bring an unlimited amount of laundry to the event and will receive free laundry products to help clean their clothes.<\/p>\n<p>While the guests do their laundry, children will be safely entertained with several supervised enrichment activities including reading, face painting and more. Free children\u2019s books will be distributed to the families present at the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe it is important to show your community that you care about them,&#8221;  said Laurent Broda, owner of My Sunny Laundry. \u201cWe are blessed by the fact that our laundries have been successful, so we want to give back to the community. Our team is excited to help the community and share a moment of joy and happiness with people who are the foundation of our business, our customers. This is a great honor for us to be able to open the laundries for all our customers and show them that there is always someone willing to be there for them.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The LaundryCares Foundation is dedicated to helping laundromat owners provide services through their stores, such as Free Laundry Days and childhood literacy resources to families in underserved communities.
