Lauderdale, Fla., where current and potential store owners, distributors and manufacturers gathered to network, enjoy a nice meal and sharpen their collective business knowledge.

The Georgia event featured PlanetLaundry columnist Cary Lipman, a former owner of seven vended laundries, who presented, “Establishing a First-Class Wash-Dry-Fold Center.” In Florida, Steve Marcionetti, president of Card Concepts, Inc., presented a session called, “Payment Options: Eight Things You Need to Know.”

After these presentations, attendees at both events had the opportunity to share ideas and connect with their peers. In addition, the CLA provided updates on some of the association’s latest initiatives, including new demographics reports, upcoming LaundryCares programs and The Clean Show.

“This meeting was the best one I have attended since becoming a CLA member,” said Georgia event attendee Scott Lowery of The Laundry Room in Rome, Ga. “I was able to take away techniques and put them into action the very next day. The sharing of years of industry knowledge can help a newcomer grow his or her business tenfold.”

“Dreams and goals gain perspective, strategy and momentum at a live event in ways that don’t occur through reading a blog or social media post,” explained Cheryl Arrington, owner of the Washing Well. “Thank you, CLA, for supporting laundry owners through quality regional events like this one.”

The CLA has 51 events planned in 2019 across the country. The remaining Connect LIVE events this month will be held in Long Beach, Calif., on May 15; in Seattle on May 16; and in Charlotte, N.C., on May 22.
