Gold Coin Laundry Equipment Inc.<\/a>, headquartered in Jamaica, N.Y., has expanded, with the rehiring of a former employee, a new addition to the company\u2019s sales staff, and the creation of a new department.<\/p>\n

Ken Mackay has returned to Gold Coin in a new role as parts department manager. Mackay worked part time in the Gold Coin parts department as a teenager and then came on board full time as a technician in 2007. In 2010, he moved into the parts department, eventually taking on the role of parts buyer.<\/p>\n

At the end of 2018, Mackay left for another opportunity, but Gold Coin rehired him this past July, bringing him back in his new managerial role. Ken will oversee a staff of four with the goal of streamlining operations, as well as improving sales and profits.<\/p>\n

In addition, former Parts Department Manager Ed Gonzalez is now heading up Gold Coin\u2019s new field support department. Gonzalez started with Gold Coin in 1995 as a part-time warehouse assistant.<\/p>\n

Ed will manage a staff of three, supporting the sales and service departments in a number of ways, including DexterLive<\/a> and card system installations, equipment startups, and service call follow-ups.<\/p>\n

Also, Steve Weaver has been brought on board to handle equipment sales in the northern part of the distributor\u2019s territory. Weaver has been active in the industry for nearly 20 years \u2013 the last 13 as the owner of SW Moving, a company that warehoused, delivered and installed equipment for many upstate New York and New England laundry distributors. He will cover 21 upstate New York counties, along with eight counties in western Connecticut and Massachusetts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
