Mr Jeff – an international, tech-based laundry service franchise – opened its first U.S. flagship hub inside an existing Clean Rite Centers laundromat on August 8 in New York City. The franchise, now available in more than 30 countries, provides customers with 24-hour, same-day wash-dry-fold services, as well as mobile app-based pickup and delivery.
Beyond this initial location in Queens, Mr Jeff will open several new stores in 2021. The second will be based in the Flatlands neighborhood in Brooklyn later this month. And the first franchisees will begin operations by mid-October in Florida and Texas.
The opening of the flagship Mr Jeff hub comes on the heels of an announcement this past May that Mr Jeff had entered into a partnership agreement with Clean Rite laundromats to operate inside select Clean Rite locations. The Clean Rite chain has developed more than 200 locations across North America, mainly in densely populated, urban areas.
Peter Stern, former senior vice president of Clean Rite Centers and managing director of Clean Ventures (which is an investor in Mr Jeff) and newly appointed managing director of Mr Jeff’s U.S. market, announced that the Queens laundromat is the first of four Clean Rite locations that will feature the tech-based Mr Jeff concept.
“The laundry industry here in the U.S. was long overdue for innovation,” Stern explained. “Through integration with our existing technology platform, Cents, Mr Jeff will provide Clean Rite customers with additional conveniences – including pickup-and-delivery services through the Mr Jeff app, wetcleaning, drycleaning, ironing, pressing, and Mr Jeff monthly membership options.”
Mr Jeff is part of Jeff, a wellness services platform startup founded in Valencia, Spain in 2015. Having announced its franchise opportunities in the U.S. earlier this year, Mr Jeff is looking specifically to partner with qualified franchisees in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Tennessee and Vermont.
