Aloha Laundry Life Logo Design Final-01 (1) (1)Laundry service provider network Aloha Laundry Life recently announced that it has acquired the online laundry training and certification program formerly known as Laundry University. The platform will now operate under the name Aloha University, or ALU.

Laundry University was created by former laundromat owner Colleen Unema, who operated Brio Laundry in Bellingham, Wash., for more than a decade. Since its launch, Laundry University has provided training to numerous laundromat owners, drycleaners, laundry attendants, and independent providers nationwide. With a focus on laundry operations, the platform offers comprehensive training and certification programs to ensure efficiency and profitability in laundry operations.

“When I founded the university, my goal was to share my knowledge and experiences from building Brio Laundry, to make the journey easier for others entering the industry,” Unema shared. “Now, with Aloha’s technical prowess and expertise in technology, I’m excited to continue serving as Aloha’s industry expert. Together, we’ll empower aspiring entrepreneurs and seasoned professionals alike, making a positive difference in the lives of those looking to thrive in the laundry industry.”

The acquisition reinforces Aloha’s commitment to excellence in laundry delivery services by equipping its independent business owners – also referred to as Virtual Laundromat Owners, or VLOs – with advanced tools, knowledge, and resources.

Going forward, ALU will focus on providing all-in-one training for various aspects of the laundry industry – including laundry delivery optimization, wash-dry-fold operations, business acumen, financial literacy, marketing strategies, and more.

“Creating an all-in-one training platform for our VLOs has been a long-standing goal of mine,” explained Aloha CEO Daniel Ellis. “I’m delighted to see our team making significant strides toward becoming the ultimate educational platform in the laundry industry.”
