Editor Bob Nieman Leaves CLA, PlanetLaundry Magazine After Two Decades

After 23 years with CLA and PlanetLaundry magazine, I find myself facing a moment that always seemed so distant… saying goodbye.

This industry has been more than just a career for me – it has been a journey filled with incredible people, unforgettable stories, and a deep sense of community. From the first time I stepped into a laundromat to the countless conversations with store owners, industry leaders, and newcomers alike, I have been privileged to witness firsthand the dedication, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit that define this business.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of sharing your stories, celebrating your successes, and offering insights that, I hope, helped make a difference. But the truth is, you all have made a greater impact on me. The passion and hard work of this industry have been a constant source of inspiration. Your willingness to adapt, innovate, and support one another is what makes the laundromat business truly special.

I would be remiss if I didn’t express my deep gratitude to my many colleagues at CLA and on the PlanetLaundry team through the years. Their dedication and professionalism have made my time here rewarding beyond words. To the readers, contributors, and industry partners who have trusted me to tell their stories – thank you. Your support and engagement have meant everything.

As I move on to new opportunities, I take with me a wealth of memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. Though I may no longer be covering this industry, I will always be cheering from the sidelines, eager to see how it continues to evolve and thrive.

Thank you for 23 incredible years. It has been an honor and a privilege.
