Laundry Owners Warehouse has made a charitable donation to the American Red Cross to support disaster relief efforts in Jamaica following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.
The company is making this contribution on behalf of Tony Gordon, one of Laundry Owners Warehouse’s original, day-one employees who has played a major role in the company’s growth and success. Tony was born and raised in Jamaica and still has family and friends living on the island who have been personally affected by the storm.
“When one of our own hurts, we all feel it,” said Joshua Prager, CEO of Laundry Owners Warehouse. “Tony has been with us from the very beginning — he’s part of the heart and soul of this company. When we saw the impact Hurricane Melissa had on Jamaica, we knew we wanted to do something in his name to help. This donation is for Tony, for his loved ones, and for all the people in Jamaica who are rebuilding their lives. We encourage others to join us in supporting the Red Cross’s important work.”
For Tony, this cause is deeply personal.
“My family and friends back home are still trying to recover,” said Tony Gordon, Senior Warehouse Associate at Laundry Owners Warehouse. “It means so much to me that the company I work for stepped up like this — not just for me, but for everyone in Jamaica who’s been affected. I’m proud to be part of a team that truly cares.”
Hurricane Melissa brought widespread flooding, power outages, and destruction across Jamaica, displacing thousands and damaging critical infrastructure. The American Red Cross is providing food, clean water, shelter, and medical assistance to those in need.
