Current and potential laundry owners, distributors and manufacturers gathered in Atlanta on January 30 and in Orlando on January 31 to network, enjoy a nice meal and broaden their marketing skills at the first CLA Connect LIVE events of 2019.

Both events featured speaker Jamie Sewell, director of technology engagement at Alliance Laundry Systems, who presented, “Creating an Engaging Customer Experience.” She shared tips for improving the overall customer experience – from the time consumers become aware of your laundry business through post-sale. After the presentation, attendees had the opportunity to share ideas and connect with their peers.

In addition, the CLA provided updates on some of the association’s new initiatives and upcoming events, such as new member benefits, LaundryCares programs and The Clean Show.

Attendee Yvette Morton Williams, owner of Wash & Spin Coin Laundry in Atlanta, shared her experience at the Georgia event.

“Thank you to the CLA for hosting outstanding regional events,” she said. “The January Connect LIVE gathering in Atlanta was a wonderful opportunity to network with local industry professionals. Jamie Sewell didn’t disappoint, as she shared practical ways to create an engaging customer experience. These are important reasons to continue to support the CLA as we are given tangible ways to run more efficient and effective laundry businesses.”

“What I like best about the CLA Connect LIVE meetings is the camaraderie with my fellow operators, vendors and equipment manufacturers,” explained Ed Ellis, owner of 1 Clean Laundry in St. Cloud, Fla., who attended the Orlando session. “Even after 10 years in the business, there is always something new to learn. For example, although my machines are rarely out of service, I discovered a fun new example for creating an out-of-order sign.”

The CLA has 51 Connect LIVE events planned in 2019 across the country. The next meeting will be held in Kansas City, Mo., on February 12. Others scheduled for this month include: February 20 in Burbank, Calif.; February 21 in Seattle; and February 27 in Raleigh, N.C.
