Commercial Laundry Systems of the Rockies, based in Johnstown, Colo., recently concluded an initiative to donate a percentage of its profits from equipment sales during May and June 2016 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Together with his family, owner Pete Valconesi presented a check for $1,300 to the hospital.

“It’s a starting point from which we hope to build,” he said. “As an owner of a laundry equipment distributorship, I’m thankful to be in a place where I can give back to help sick children.”

By providing a portion of profits to St. Jude each year, Commercial Laundry Systems of the Rockies and its customers are contributing to a great cause, Valconesi added.

St. Jude – which focuses on understanding, treating and defeating childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases – has helped grow the survival rate for childhood cancer from less than 20 percent in 1962 to more than 80 percent today, according to the hospital’s website.
