Laundry pickup-and-delivery service HappyNest, headquartered in East Greenwich, R.I., hosted its 2nd annual Partner Conference on June 20-22 in Newport, R.I. – with more than 50 of the company’s laundromat partners from across the U.S. gathering for the event.
The conference offered HappyNest partners the opportunity to network and share ideas surrounding growth, staffing, operations, and industry trends.
“Our 2nd annual Partner Conference was a great success,” said John MacKrell, CEO and founder of HappyNest. “It was a collaborative, productive, and exciting few days to bring together HappyNest partners and share information, pass ideas back and forth, and get feedback from our partners. We appreciate our partners making the trip to Newport to learn how to further scale and enhance their pickup-and-delivery laundry businesses. It was a fun event, and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.”
During the two-and-a-half-day conference, partners had the opportunity to speak with members of the HappyNest team from all departments – including Partner Support, Customer Service, Commercial Sales, Technology, and Marketing.
The group also heard perspectives from three partners: Ralph Myers from Jacksonville, Fla.; Charlie Russell from Baltimore; and Mark Hardaway from Los Angeles, who all spoke about their experiences with recent HappyNest initiatives.
On the final day, a Q&A session allowed HappyNest partners to share successful strategies and methodologies on staffing and growth. Panelists included: Charles Measley from Ocean Township, N.J.; Amber Knott from Mobile, Ala.; Eli Carey from Denver; and Mark Hardaway from Los Angeles.
In addition to learning from those within the partner network, HappyNest welcomed key members of the laundromat industry to contribute their thoughts and knowledge on the future and growth of laundry pickup and delivery.
Coin Laundry Association President and CEO Brian Wallace presented to the group on the current trends within the PUD space.
“I appreciate the entire HappyNest team and their partners for their hospitality at the conference,” Wallace said. “I came away both impressed by the quality of operators and with the high level of engagement they displayed as a community. Our industry is growing rapidly in the laundry delivery space, and I feel fortunate to have spent time with some of the clear leaders in that trend, while sharing CLA’s outlook for the future.”
As they continue to grow their business, conference attendees also had the opportunity to hear from Tony Regan, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Eastern Funding, who provided a comprehensive overview of growth financing within the industry.
“It was great being part of HappyNest’s recent Partner Conference,” Regan noted. “Lots of energy and organization provided for valuable information shared amongst so many great operators. Congrats on a very enjoyable and successful event!”
Additionally, the HappyNest team was thrilled to welcome fellow Rhode Islander, three-time USA Olympic swimmer and Olympic Team Captain Elizabeth Beisel to the Conference.
Beisel shared a motivating and engaging presentation on what it takes to be successful, the importance of teamwork, and stories from her time at the Olympics, which offered valuable insights that attendees could apply to both their professional and personal lives.
HappyNest processes more than 25,000 pickups and more than half a million pounds of laundry every month. The company’s service is now available in 38 states and Washington D.C., through more than 130 HappyNest partners.
