John D. Dixon Recognized for National Laundry in Dickson, Tenn.
Huebsch recently named John D. Dixon its Store Owner of the Quarter for his National Laundry, which is located in Dickson, Tenn. Dixon “transformed a rundown store into a thoughtfully designed, well-organized and aesthetically pleasing laundromat,” according to Huebsch.
“As an equipment distributor with almost a decade of experience in the laundry industry, Mr. Dixon has served as a mentor to many business owners, helping them identify industry trends and provide insightful advice on how to make their businesses successful,” said Kathryn Rowen, North American sales manager for Huebsch. “Seeing Mr. Dixon apply his expertise and creativity to revamp his own laundromat into an experience that is successfully attracting customers is inspiring.”
With a clear vision for his new self-service laundry in mind – a simple, yet elegant, store that gets customers in and out quickly – Dixon transformed the existing 3,600-square-foot facility over a 90-day period. He selected Huebsch’s “Cityscape”overlay option for his machines, which features a gray control panel, complemented by a splash of vivid green. Additionally, a polished chrome door handle and a Halo chrome door ring provide shiny accents.
“Having your equipment look amazing is no small thing,” Dixon explained. “It’s incredibly important for the brand of your store to have equipment in which people come in and say, ‘Wow.’ The little details can add up to the difference between a customer choosing your laundromat over another.”
Dixon also replaced the store’s lighting and flooring, added a fresh coat of paint, and improved the overall layout of the laundry.
“It’s easy to notice the positive difference when revamping an entire store, but even small changes can go a long way in transforming a store’s brand,” he said.
National Laundry also features vending machines, video games and free Wi-Fi to keep customers entertained while they wait for their laundry. What’s more, Dixon set up a Facebook page, allowing customers to provide feedback about their experience at his store, which he has used to make further adjustments to his laundry’s offerings.
