Washin’ Coin Laundry, based in Anniston, Ala., recently donated a percentage of the proceeds from its operations to 2nd Chance Inc., a local nonprofit group that provides support for the victims of domestic and sexual abuse.

Laundry owner Ken Barrett presented a check for $1,542 to Susan Shipman of 2nd Chance. The contribution is part of Washin’ Coin Laundry’s ongoing “Washin’ and Dryin’ for a Cause” community support program. The company donates 25 percent of the business from dedicated washers and dryers at all four of its store locations to a different nonprofit each quarter of the year.
