Laundroworks, a manufacturer of card-based payment systems for laundry machines, has partnered with laundromat point-of-sale provider Wash-Dry-Fold POS to bridge the gap between self-service and wash-dry-fold laundry.
Utilizing a new integration between the two providers, customers who load a self-service balance on the Laundroworks card system are able to pay for soap and other services at that store’s Wash-Dry-Fold POS system as well.
“Customers often want to use their laundry card balance on the POS machine as well,” explained Oleg Stepanov of Laundroworks. “This integration provides this functionality.”
In addition, using Wash-Dry-Fold POS, employees who need to start washers and dryers for orders are able to tie which machines were used for which orders. This enables the laundromat owner to run a report within Wash-Dry-Fold POS that shows “Machine Start Expense Ratios,” which can indicate if an employee uses an unusually large number of machines to process any specific order.
“Anytime I’ve heard of employee theft over $5,000 in a laundromat, it has to do with employees using their card systems to start machines for self-serve customers,” said Ian Gollahon of Wash-Dry-Fold POS. “The best method to prevent this is to tie each individual machine start to an order, and then run a monthly report to ensure extra machines aren’t started. Our system documents poundage versus comforters versus retail items, and the reports show sales-to-start ratios that will flag any funny business. Using Laundroworks and Wash-Dry-Fold POS together can help you reduce employee theft and increase efficiency.”
