Little Havana Laundry, located in Miami, recently added unique artwork by Ivan Roque and Heps Fury Productions that represents the local culture and community.

Store owner Autumn Markley is an art enthusiast whose previous professional background is in the beauty and hair industry. She has always been creative in her business ventures and has enjoyed working with local artists.

Markley also believes that being based in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood provides her an opportunity to bring the community together. It was her desire to create a curb appeal and beauty that goes beyond what one associates with a traditional laundromat.

Little HavanaMarkley worked with Roque, a Cuban artist, on the store’s interior mural – while the exterior images were done by Heps Fury. Roque created a tropical scene that brings an energy into the laundromat, and Heps Fury produced a signature look for the front of the building.

“We’ve brought the history of the Cuban culture into the laundromat with pictures of old cars on the wall,” Markley explained. “Letting the music play throughout the day and seeing people walk by enjoying the art is a beautiful sight. Life is full of color – it’s the way you express your passion and love. Being a part of a community and operating an essential business, you have to embrace and support the ones around you.”

Since purchasing Little Havana Laundry in 2021, Markley has worked with Aaxon Laundry Systems to retool the store with new washers and dryers. She also has added workstations and Wi-Fi, enabling her customers to work remotely from the store while also tackling their weekly laundry. In addition, Little Havana recently established a pickup-and-delivery service.
