Laundry payment system provider SpyderWash, a Setomatic Systems company, and Wash-Dry-Fold POS, a point-of-sale system developed for laundromats, recently announced they have teamed up on a cross-platform project.
SpyderWash enables laundromat customers and employees to start washers and dryers via its card system, which supports contactless card acceptance while retaining coin functionality on individual washers and dryers. With this new collaborative effort, customers also can use their SpyderWash cards to purchase retail soaps or wash-dry-fold services on Wash-Dry-Fold POS systems, a convenience often requested by self-service customers.
“We’ve always had people asking to buy soap with their SpyderWash cards,” noted John Henderson, owner of Liberty Laundry in Broken Arrow, Okla. “Now we have the option of accepting it.”
In addition, Wash-Dry-Fold POS’s new Order Tracker feature enables laundromat owners to track which washers and dryers are being used for which orders. This creates time-stamped dollar amounts that can be compared directly to the amounts loaded onto an attendant’s SpyderWash card. Comparing an attendant’s card system balance to the washer and dryer starts recorded on Wash-Dry-Fold POS system can be a tool to help prevent employee theft.
“Many top-performing laundromats around the country are mutual customers of SpyderWash and Wash-Dry-Fold POS,” said Gregg Schantz, vice president of SpyderWash/Setomatic. “They’ve been asking for this integration over the past year, and we felt it was crucial to get this integration completed as soon as possible. We feel this collaboration will help our mutual customers reach maximum efficiency with Wash-Dry-Fold POS’s new Order Tracker feature.”
“Being able to correlate attendant machine starts with customer order details is game-changing,” explained Ian Gollahon, sales and marketing director for Wash-Dry-Fold POS. “I’ve talked to multiple laundromat owners who have identified theft using this one metric alone.”
“My family’s chain of laundromats has always loved working with SpyderWash,” added Wash-Dry-Fold POS founder Brian Henderson. “We’re proud to be the first point-of-sale system to announce integration.”
