Brothers Josh, Eric and Zach Mann have signed a four-unit agreement with laundromat franchise LaundroLab to bring the brand’s first locations to the Phoenix market.
The Mann brothers all attended the University of Arizona in Tucson. However, each took separate career paths after college – Eric graduated with a software degree and worked for a chemical company, Zach worked in the sales lab for food delivery platform DoorDash, and Josh worked as a marketing and web content specialist in sporting goods. But their paths soon converged when they decided to go into business together.
“We had always wanted to do something as a family,” Josh said. “With the pandemic and everybody making life changes, we felt we were at the point where it really made sense. That’s what first brought us to LaundroLab.”
“We’ve seen a lot of growth potential in Arizona and throughout the Southwest, and we’ve already been able to award 15 licenses in Texas and Arizona alone,” said Dan D’Aquisto, the brand’s co-founder and president. “We expect to grow fast in the Southwest, especially thanks to the Mann brothers and franchisees like them.”
The Phoenix metropolitan area is currently home to more than 5 million people, and was recently named the fastest-growing city in the U.S. With a wide range of clients and rapid growth of real estate, the LaundroLab team anticipates increased demand within the Valley of the Sun.
“This area is growing with a lot of renters, retirees and other demographic groups,” Josh noted.
“It’s a very spread-out community here in the Valley,” Zach added. “It’s not a typical city, and it keeps on expanding.”
The Mann brothers said they weren’t only drawn to the LaundroLab brand because of the market potential in the state they call home, but also because they saw how the brand could fit the needs of a wide range of communities. LaundroLab’s sister concept – laundry pickup-and-delivery service 2ULaundry – is another opportunity the new franchisees are excited to develop.
“That will allow us to tap into Scottsdale and Paradise Valley – places with more expensive living,” Zach explained.
The brothers are aiming to open their first LaundroLab location in the late spring or early summer of 2022 and said they are open to continued expansion once their first laundromats are established.
“We want to walk before we run though,” Zach said. “As soon as we figure out the secret sauce, then we’ll think about scaling.”
“The dream is to have a well-run, stress-free business,” Josh added.
The Manns said they see a breakeven on their investment quickly, and they are eager to begin providing a new level of service for their communities.
The LaundroLab brand started franchising early in 2021 and has since gone on to award more than 30 franchise licenses to 12 franchisees.
