WashClub NYC, a tech-based laundry and drycleaning company offering on-demand pickup and delivery, has announced plans to double its customer base in 2015 by launching its first app, expanding its service into Queens and licensing its patented software to entrepreneurs across the country.
WashClub NYC, founded by Rick Rome in 2010 after he purchased a Brooklyn-based laundry, has grown from a local Brooklyn business into a company that regularly services more than 10,000 customers in both Brooklyn and Manhattan. In line with its expansion, Rome predicts that his company will serve more than 20,000 people in New York alone by the start of 2016.
“We’re creating a path that is disrupting the way the laundry and drycleaning industries operate,” Rome said. “By releasing our app and entering select neighborhoods of Queens, we are going to reach more New York customers than ever before. We will be bringing web-based laundry and drycleaning services with on-demand pickup and delivery to residents of neighborhoods that currently lack this type of convenience and service.
“By licensing our laundry logistics software, web platform and offering brand start-up guidance, we also will be providing small-business owners and other entrepreneurs with the tools they need to be competitive in this fast-changing environment.”
The three ways the company will expand include:
App launch: WashClub will launch its new app for Apple and Android users, providing customers with an easy, three-tap method for scheduling, tracking and personalizing the care of their laundry and drycleaning.
Entering new markets: The company will expand operations into select neighborhoods of Queens.
Software licensing: For an upfront fee and a percentage of monthly sales, WashClub will provide access to its patented logistics software and technical support to experienced entrepreneurs looking to open their own WashClub or branded business. WashClub-licensed services have already launched in Long Island.
