4Ward Energy Solutions – which teams with the Coin Laundry Association on the trade group’s energy management program – recently announced a long-term financial commitment to the LaundryCares Foundation.
4Ward Energy will donate $1 per laundromat location participating in CLA’s energy program each month to the charitable foundation. Currently, 4Ward has more than 400 locations participating in the program, which equates to approximately $5,000 a year going to help support LaundryCares’ mission.
“I’d been trying to figure out a good way to make a steady donation to LaundryCares through the CLA Energy Program, other than just one-time donations during actual LaundryCares events,” explained 4Ward President Chris Ward. “Then, [LaundryCares Executive Vice President] Dan Naumann and I were playing golf in Nashville during CLA’s recent WDF Workshop. We were kicking around some ideas, and it seemed like a great time for us to really get involved. I did some quick numbers in my head, and here we are.
“I hope our commitment will encourage others make additional donations and further commitments to the foundation,” Ward said. “After all, giving back is one of the most fulfilling things we can do. Whether you give your time or your money to support great causes, it’s a noble act. Plus, it will give you a feeling unlike any other.
“I think back to a LaundryCares Free Laundry Day event in my home state of Texas last year, and my heart was full after that day. Helping families in need to do something that’s important to their lives is an amazing opportunity for the laundry industry.”
CLA’s energy program through 4Ward Energy Solutions has been created for laundromat owners purchasing electricity and natural gas from third-party providers. In addition, members across the country can receive a free analysis of their natural gas and electricity accounts to determine if there are any available cost savings or alternative options for their businesses. 4Ward Energy Solutions also will provide store owners with information on rebates in their states with regard to new equipment, lighting, and so on.
