The laundry industry is evolving, and so is the face of its leadership. At LaundryLux, we’re proud to be part of a growing movement to elevate women at every level of the business, from internal leadership roles to laundromat ownership and industry-wide partnerships. Our Women’s Initiative is more than a campaign. It’s a commitment to real, lasting change.
Historically, the commercial laundry industry has been male dominated. Leadership, ownership, technical support and even field sales have largely been occupied by men. But that’s shifting – and LaundryLux is leading the way by example. The future of our industry depends on inclusive leadership, diverse perspectives and the entrepreneurial spirit that women continue to bring in full force.
At LaundryLux, we’re taking a multi-pronged approach through our Women’s Initiative, LaundryLux’s Ladies in Laundryy) —focused on supporting women within our company, women already in the industry, and those who haven’t joined us yet but should.
Empowering Women Within Our Walls
It starts at home. At LaundryLux, we’re investing in the growth and development of the women on our team through mentorship, leadership development and intentional hiring practices. From logistics to marketing to management, we’re committed to making sure women not only have a seat at the table, but the tools, confidence and community to lead it.
A key part of that effort includes bringing in women leaders from other traditionally male-dominated industries to share their stories, insights and roadmaps for success. These guest presenters bring fresh perspective, real-world strategies and powerful inspiration to our team – demonstrating what’s possible when women lead boldly and unapologetically.
We’ve also built internal platforms like networking forums, peer leadership awards and coaching opportunities to celebrate talent, foster development and support the growth of high-potential female leaders. But empowering women here isn’t only about individual advancement – it’s about the ripple effect.
Across the company, women at LaundryLux are leading initiatives that engage everyone, from community outreach programs to company-wide wellness and fitness challenges. These efforts not only reflect their leadership but are reshaping the culture: bringing people together, building stronger connections and making an impact far beyond day-to-day work.
And perhaps most importantly, we’re listening – closely: To what women need to thrive in our company and what needs to evolve in the industry at large to ensure long-term, meaningful progress.
Supporting Women Already in the Industry – and Creating Allies
We know that many women are already thriving in this space – as laundromat owners, service technicians, distributor reps and entrepreneurs. But many have had to forge their own paths without the same access to mentorship, capital or visibility that others in the industry may take for granted.
That’s why our Women’s Initiative includes a strong focus on building allies – not just elevating women but engaging the full industry to support them. We’re actively encouraging our male colleagues, partners and leadership to step into the role of allies – amplifying women’s voices, advocating for inclusive opportunities and challenging systems that may unintentionally exclude.
We believe allyship must be intentional. It’s about mentorship across gender lines, celebrating wins together, and creating an environment where women feel seen, respected and supported at every level of the business.
We’re also proud to be actively involved in supporting the Coin Laundry Association’s Women’s Laundry Network (WLN) – a vital platform that connects, celebrates and uplifts women across the laundry industry. Whether it’s sponsoring WLN events, participating in leadership conversations or encouraging broader engagement from our team and partners, we view WLN as a powerful catalyst for connection, visibility and growth.
When it comes to ownership, we’re committed to empowering more women to confidently pursue laundromat ownership. From financing and site selection to marketing and day-to-day operations, our goal is to demystify the process and make the journey to ownership more approachable and achievable. We’re especially proud to have one of the strongest teams of female sales representatives in the industry – ready to support and guide the growing number of women stepping into ownership.
Attracting the Next Generation of Women in Laundry
We also know we need more women in this space. Period.
That means changing the narrative of what a career in laundry looks like. It’s not just coin-ops and machines. It’s technology, entrepreneurship, sustainability and community building. We’re actively working on outreach strategies to attract women from a wide range of industries and backgrounds, introducing them to the opportunities within LaundryLux, with our partners and as independent owners.
We’re especially focused on reaching young professionals and career-changers who are looking for meaningful work, flexibility and ownership potential. The laundry business offers all of that – and more.
The Path Ahead
Our Women’s Initiative is just getting started. The work is ongoing, but the momentum is real.
We believe that when women succeed in the laundry business, everyone benefits. Teams get stronger. Communities are better served. Innovation accelerates. And most importantly, the industry becomes more reflective of the diverse world we live in.
Whether you’re an operator, distributor, service tech or brand new to laundry – there’s a place for you here.
At LaundryLux, we’re not just opening doors for women. We’re building a movement and inviting everyone to walk through those doors with us.
