The commercial laundry industry mourns the loss of one of its most respected and beloved figures, Jerry Giangrasso, who passed away after an extraordinary 65-year career. Known affectionately by friends, colleagues and loyal customers as “Uncle Jerry,” his presence left a lasting imprint on the people and the business he cared so deeply about. Jerry was one of the three original founders that proudly created Super Laundry, which has grown today into the multi-million-dollar division of CSC ServiceWorks, where we carry on his incredible legacy.
Jerry’s name became synonymous with Super Laundry, where his unwavering dedication, sharp business acumen and generous mentorship helped guide the company and countless individuals to success. Over the course of six and a half decades, Jerry did far more than build a career; he built relationships, community and trust.
His influence extended beyond contracts and equipment. Whether advising a new laundromat owner or consulting with a seasoned operator, Jerry brought compassion, commitment and character to every interaction. He had a rare gift for making people feel seen, supported and part of something bigger. For many, he was not just a business partner, but a friend, a mentor and a steady hand in an ever-evolving industry.
Jerry was known for his tireless work ethic and deep industry knowledge, but what truly set him apart was his heart. He had a way of turning professional relationships into lifelong friendships. His nickname, Uncle Jerry, speaks volumes. He made people feel like family, and his loyalty and sincerity were unmatched.
As the industry continued to grow and change, Jerry remained a constant – a living bridge between tradition and progress. His wisdom, humor and quiet leadership helped shape the culture of Super Laundry and served as a model for professionalism throughout the sector.
Jerry’s passing is a tremendous loss, but his legacy will continue to guide us. He taught us not just how to work in this business, but how to thrive in it, how to care for people and how to lead with integrity.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and all who had the honor of working alongside him.
Thank you, Uncle Jerry. You will be missed, remembered and celebrated always.
