Although open just over a month, California’s first Speed Queen Laundry franchise, located in Long Beach, recently attracted attention with visits from a pair of city officials.
The store played host to visits from Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia and Long Beach Councilwoman Cindy Allen.
“Our facilities are super clean, and we do more than any other brand to promote safety,” noted co-owner Saba Safiari, who walked the two local officials through the new store. “This is where folks come and can expect a nice place for their family to be. We’re always attended, and our staff is always willing to help.”
Co-owner Robert Rafia added that the business is doing more than simply providing area residents with a great place to do laundry.
“I love all of the many things we do for our communities globally, but also right here in our neighborhood,” he explained. “For example, we’re launching Speed Queen Wash and Learn – a literacy program that will provide free new books, as well as opportunities for students of local teaching programs to come and get live experience as guest readers.”
Mayor Garcia and Councilwoman Allen both lauded the new store owners for bringing their business to the neighborhood, as well as adding job opportunities for local residents.
