More than 90 laundry professionals took part in the Coin Laundry Association’s first-ever “Women in Vended Laundry” luncheon program on Day Two of Clean 2019 in New Orleans. The program kicked off the association’s Women in Vended Laundry initiative, with a goal of recognizing, empowering and connecting women in the laundry industry — and, in turn, developing leaders for the CLA, as well as within the industry as a whole.

During this interactive session, facilitator Claudia St. John, president of Affinity HR Group, led attendees through a series of impactful discussions with other women in the industry – focusing on challenges and roadblocks, successes, and other critical topics, fully guided by those in attendance.

The afternoon’s topics ranged from growing a commercial accounts business and sharing marketing tactics to handling wash-dry-fold complaints and managing male employees. Participants came away with some solid business solutions and, more importantly, new connections with other successful women in the laundry business.

From the overwhelmingly positive response from those in attendance, this event was just the first of many to come.
