On August 30, after a several-year hiatus, the Coin Laundry Association hosted a “meet-up” in Atlanta for the Georgia vended laundry industry.
Nearly 60 attendees gathered for a networking lunch, educational sessions and fellowship with their peers. The program was highlighted by CLA President and CEO Brian Wallace, who presented a seminar entitled, “Laundry Industry Forecast: 2017,” which featured a rundown of the latest trends and happenings in the laundry business.
Wallace was joined on the program by popular PlanetLaundry columnist Jeff Gardner. Perhaps better known as “The Laundry Doctor,” Gardner provided a detailed update on the state of the wash-dry-fold, commercial accounts, pickup and delivery, and laundry app markets.
Both presenters also participated in an extended question-and-answer session, which gave attendees the opportunity to ask any individual marketing or operational questions.
“The energy in the room was fantastic, and I loved seeing the busy exchange of information – and business cards,” Gardner noted. “I hope everyone learned as much as I did and that the appetite for more frequent meetings remains strong in Atlanta.”
“I was thrilled to have the association back in Georgia and impressed by the strong turnout,” Wallace added. “Seeing laundromat owners, distributors, potential investors and manufacturer representatives meet up to talk shop and share best practices illustrates the best of what the Coin Laundry Association strives to accomplish for its members. We are hoping to build on this interest with more meetings in the near future.”
In fact, the CLA recently announced that a similar industry gathering will be held on November 15, also in Atlanta. Further details about this upcoming event will be released soon.
