Huebsch recently named John and Ceara Templin as its Store Owners of the Quarter.
A year ago, the Templins opened Laundry Lounge in Winslow, Maine. And, since then, the store has become a destination for many customers – some who travel more than an hour to use the laundromat’s equipment.
“John and Ceara embody the entrepreneurial spirit of the next generation of vended laundry owners,” said Kathryn Rowen, Huebsch North American sales manager. “They decided that, by leveraging higher level technology and elevating the customer experience, Laundry Lounge would quickly become a market leader, and it has.”
The 2,500-square-foot laundry features a variety of capacities, ranging from 20- to 80-pound washers, as well as 30- and 45-pound stacks and 75-pound tumble dryers. John and Ceara also are utilizing the latest in technology, with Galaxy 600 controls to give their customers the ability to tailor wash cycles to their specific preferences, while Huebsch Command helps the Templins monitor their store’s performance.
Also key to their success has been their distributor, Daniels Equipment Co. of Auburn, N.H. – and, specifically, Daniels’ Tom Tobiassen, who played an integral role in getting the Templins’ dream of owning a laundromat off the ground.
“Tom was great,” John said. “He took care of everything – from operational floor space and equipment recommendations to financing. That allowed me to focus on the construction and renovation of the site. I didn’t have to worry about anything except signing paperwork.”
