Clean Laundry in Ottumwa, Iowa, recently partnered with Whatsoever You Do Inc., a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the less fortunate, during one of the laundromat’s “Clean for a Cause” charitable events.
Clean Laundry co-founder Phil Akin developed “Clean for a Cause,” which is an event-based donation program where 100 percent of the proceeds from the laundry services on the day of the event go to a nonprofit organization in the local community.
On December 7, those proceeds went directly to Whatsoever You Do. Moreover, additional donations were accepted in store as well.
“You don’t need to be a regular user of laundromats to support this cause,” said Akin, during the event. “Everyone can come out and wash large items that don’t fit into residential machines, such as bedding, pillows and dog beds.
“We are excited to have this partnership with Whatsoever You Do and to be able to better support the community through Clean for a Cause.”
