Peter Stern HeadshotMr Jeff, a laundry home delivery franchise, has named Peter Stern the company’s new managing director in the United States. With more than 20 years of experience in the laundromat industry, Stern will play a critical role in helping Mr Jeff reach its goal of becoming “the premier laundry service company” in the U.S. by building “a network of stores in prominent locations with stellar operators” throughout the country, according to a statement by Mr Jeff.

The franchise’s pilot project in the U.S. will involve opening several flagship hubs inside existing Clean Rite laundromat locations in New York and Ohio – with its first already open in Queens.

“The Mr Jeff business model – along with its technological innovation, marketing expertise and ability to incubate strong store operators into this industry – is the most compelling force of change I’ve seen in my 20 years in this industry,” said Stern, who led the due diligence effort securing a multi-million-dollar investment in Mr Jeff.

Prior to joining Mr Jeff, Stern served as senior vice president of Laundry Capital and managing director of Clean Ventures. In addition, he was the owner of Great American Laundromat, located in the Bronx and one of the highest grossing laundromats in the New York metro area.

Early in his career, Stern worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers on its financial advisory services team, specializing in forensic accounting, fraud investigations and post-acquisition dispute analysis. Additionally, he worked in commodities trading at International Specialty Chemicals, focused on procuring rare raw materials for Big Pharma and large biotech clinical trials through overseas contract manufacturing agreements.

Later in his career, Stern led product and business development for a video-auditing and AI company called Arrowsight, where he worked with companies like McDonald’s, utilizing video to analyze key operational performance metrics to provide immediate feedback to frontline and executive management.

“Peter brings the knowledge and experience that Mr Jeff needs for a successful expansion into the United States,” explained Eloi Gomez, co-founder and CEO of Mr Jeff. “He has more than 20 years of experience in the laundry sector in this territory, and we fully trust him to help us lead this exciting project. He is now a key member of the team.”

Mr Jeff is part of Jeff, a startup founded in 2015 in Valencia, Spain. With hubs in more than 30 countries, Mr Jeff is looking to partner with qualified franchisees in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Tennessee and Vermont.
