Excellence in Laundry Host Ups Its Game, As Conference Attendees Look To Do the Same
Closed to guests since Hurricane Irma wreaked havoc across southwest Florida last September, the Naples Grande Beach Resort – which will host the Coin Laundry Association’s upcoming Excellence in Laundry Conference in May – recently reopened after a multimillion-dollar makeover, triggered by the storm.
The renovation work included upgrades to guest rooms, public spaces, pools and landscaping throughout the property – as well as the creation of Mantra, a brand new lobby bar serving sushi and other Asian-inspired fare.
The resort has been “renewed, revitalized and reimagined,” said Frank Cavella, the hotel’s marketing and sales director, in a recent interview with the Naples Daily News.
Obviously, those attending the CLA conference can look forward to more than just world-class speakers, thought-provoking program content and endless opportunities to network with the industry’s elite operators.

Set on 23 waterfront acres of Florida’s Paradise Coast, adjoining a 200-acre nature preserve and mangrove estuary reminiscent of “Old Florida,” the resort features three miles of sugar white sand beach and is just a short stroll or bike ride away from area shops, restaurants, and art galleries.

The resort is an 18-story tower comprised of 474 guest rooms – including tower suites, offering private balconies with striking views of the Gulf of Mexico. Excellence in Laundry attendees will have access to five on-site restaurants and bars, three heated pools, a full-service luxury spa, an 8,000-square-foot fitness center, and an award-winning tennis facility with 15 courts.
What’s more, the golfers in the group can enjoy the resort’s highly acclaimed private course for players of all skill levels. Noted golf course architect Rees Jones designed this par 72 championship course, which proves both interesting and challenging – boasting extraordinary elevations and unique water features that expertly incorporate the indigenous Florida foliage. These facilities also include a practice range and three practice greens.
And, of course, dining options abound at the resort. Some of the culinary highlights include: The Catch of the Pelican restaurant, which celebrates the Gulf Coast vibe in a relaxed-yet-sophisticated setting and specializes in premium steaks and local seafood; Rhode’s End, which feels like “an escape to a remote Greek island” and offers a menu that captures the flavors of the Mediterranean; and Aura, which serves internationally inspired coastal cuisine amid a cutting-edge, cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Clearly, the Naples Grande Beach Resort has been completely renewed, revitalized and reimagined. And, fittingly, isn’t that exactly what those attending Excellence in Laundry are looking to accomplish within each of their own businesses?
